Paragon B&R 12 Free has stopped working

I have been happily using P B&R 12 Free for a few years now on my Dell Precision M4700 (had to choose safe boot mode however to avoid a crash).
But since this morning, I can't no longer use it, it says "DPMI error" when I choose B&R option in the main menu.
What has changed on my system since the last successful run, a couple of months ago ?
3 things:
  1. Windows 7 updates (as usual) - should be transparent for B&R
  2. Increased system memory from 12 to 16 GB
  3. Added an internal...

HDM suite 14 crashing while trying to restore from archive

Hi,

I had a recent hard drive failure, and am trying to restore from an archive of that drive. I had 2 arhives from different dates, and i initially tried to restore to a new drive from the most recent. However, an error message came up after a couple of hours telling me the archive had errors. So i abandoned that archive and used the check archive facility in HDM to check the older archive to see if it was OK, which came back as a yes. So, i left it restoring from this archive overnight....

B&R 15 Home SP1

I have received a notification about the SP1 update. It is a full installation which requires uninstalling the previous version.

Security attributes stop restore in HD15 Pro

I'm trying to restore a directory from a backup of a partition of 2TB in size. Part way through the restore (local disk to local disk) I gete the error message.

Some file have security attributes that cannot be restored! Please restore entire volume to avoid possible errors.

I'm not restoring 2TB of data to access a couple of MB of files. So how do I restore without getting this error message.

New SSD Drive

I am installing a new SSD drive in my pc. Currently I have my system on an SSD drive of the same size. Will I need to format my new SSD drive prior to restoring the system? Thanks.

As a newbie to Paragon HDM Suite 15: is it possible to convert one supported VD format to another e.g. pVHD to VMK etc?

I could not find it anywhere in the interface or manual.

Backup to FTP Site Problems

I installed the trial version and tried to create a backup to an FTP site. I had the following problems and questions:
  1. Why did I have to turn on the Legacy Features in order to back up to an FTP site? Is this feature going away in future versions of the software?
  2. I successfully created an FTP site in the Settings, FTP sites options window. I was able to connect to it. When I tried to do a files backup to the FTP site however and started the backup, it failed after about one...

restore using B&R 14 won't go through

When I acquired the lenovo desktop last year I made a point of using B&R free ed 14 to create a couple of backups. I am now trying to restore from these (onto reformatted drive E, 500gb sata).
I get this far:

and then...nothing! The whole thing just doesn't continue.
I tried moving the archive from the usb drive onto C: but that made no difference.
Any advice appreciated.

Backup script problems with version 15

I'm having problems with a script that worked with Backup & Recovery 12 but fails in version 15. I've looked at the scripting manual, but still unable to answer my questions. I'm hoping you can help.

The first problem is "SELECTION PARTIONS ALL" fails with an error. The error is "You are trying to do something with partitions without selecting them". This worked in version 12 and the manual shows it as a valid command. The script (PSL file) has the following commands:

I have a Windows 7 Pro X64 system which boots from a two-disk hardware RAID-1 array, operating from an Adaptec 2405 hardware-RAID controller.
I want to migrate my system and all data back to a single, new hard drive.
I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager Suite 15, which has a handy Copy Disk option which will apparently copy an entire system to my new disk, handle partitioning, MBR, etc.
Seems to me I should be able...

Confused with Backup and Recovery 15 Home version

I'm pretty stumped after installing the free (demo) version of Backup and Recovery 15 Home.

I've used PowerQuest's Drive Image from way back and more recently Ghost to produce imaged backups of my systems but now that Ghost is dead and Windows 10 is out, it's time to update to something more modern. Because I own 2 other Paragon utilities, I decided to try B&R 15 but have hit some issues and am hoping someone can help me with them.

Accidental Format & New Partition Creation

As you can guess from the title, I've just managed to accidentally format and creat a new partition on a Western Digital Red 3 TB drive.Of course it was the one with ALL my data on it and the one which I was just about to back up to the non-formatted one. There were two identical drives ( both in IcyBox USB3 housings ) attached to my laptop. An in a rush, I formatted the wrong one.

Since then, all I've done is a quick check on what is recoverable, using Easus Data Recovery Wizard...

B&R 12 Restore to new HDD issue

Lost my Recovery disk, backup is 2 years old, but close enough.
Attempting to restore to new larger hdd. Keeps restoring under a folder 'disk_C' on the new hard drive.
The old one, the drive c volume name was disk_C, so why is it doing this, why can't I get the files to restore relative to the root instead of this 'folder'? There are not many options to pick from, I chose specific and picked drive C, yet it restores to this folder.

I have installed HDM 15 and created multiple backups without any problems. Recently, I tried to restore an older backup after launching HDM. Unfortunately the backup is installed on a USB drive which was originally a "D" drive but is remapped as an "H" drive upon reboot. I then booted up my system with an iso created from HDM 14. When I attempt to restore from the USB drive, I get to the part where I identify the backup and click "Next". At that point, there is no response, i.e. the system...

Can't open B&R 13 archive with B&R 14

Hi there!
First, I have no idea why I get the login for this forum when I registered for the german forum http://support.paragon-software.com!!! Apart from that here's my problem:

B&R 2013 doesn't restore the *.pbf archive because of a missing stub library that got lost by upgrading from Win 8 to 8.1 (as explained in the german forum). So I installed B&R 14, but that says the *.pbf is not a virtual container. Can someone help?

Hello,
I've just purchased Backup and Recovery 15 Home, and I'm trying to archive a volume, i.e. the C: drive on my PC. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

I've create a usb recovery drive and I'm booting from that and then using the "back up to vhd" option (using all defaults), and specifying that the archive should be stored in an ordinary Windows folder on my second internal hard drive.

What I'm finding is that the backup completes successfully, but when I go to the archive folder,...
