Has anyone moved a complete user folder to a new partition using Spilt Partition (Window 7)? Just wondering how well this works and if it is reversible. Does it effect future Windows upgrade? There are various ways of doing it in the internet as well as opinions whether it should be done at all.

HD Manager 15 suite - recovery media doesn't load
I have tried both the linux and WinPE versions of recovery media. Neither will load properly. I made each on new Kinston USB sticks. The linux one boots and I am able to choose the different options but it gets to the point where there is an image of a disk drive on the screen and then hangs. The WinPE boots and starts loading but stops at a black screen and reboots. Completely useless!

Restoring a VD in Backup & Recovery 14
I made an archive of a 1 TB drive with Backup & Recovery 14. I'm now trying to restore the data back to the drive via the "Restore from VD" function. I've selected the directories I wanted restore and the destination drive. The "Overall progress" window pops up but in the last 12 hours the progress hasn't moved past 0%. The details say 'processing partition', 'copying files', 'scan volume', 'create file tree' and that's all.
Is there a trick to get the restoration process working correctly?

Paragon Backup and recovery 15 username and password
I have been trying to get this set up to try and see if it will do what I want to do, but to be honest, this is one of the most non intuitive pieces of software I think I have worked with.
Currently I think I have figured it out with the exception of the username and password.
In order to keep my files safe, I have a 2nd user account on my computer that is backupadmin. This account is the only account that has access rights to my NAS hard drive. When the backup runs, it should use this...

Restore Archive to Smaller SSD???
I'm using HDM 15 Pro (paid)
I'm trying to restore a 'legacy mode' created archive of a Windows 7-64 OS + apps to a new SSD that's only 5GB smaller than the original. It fails to restore because the target disk is smaller.
The original 256 GB Samsung 850 PRO is 5 GB smaller than the 256 GB Samsung 840 EVO I'm trying to restore to.
The archive is of a GPT partitioned eUFI disk with one 'C' partition w/OS + apps, which uses 80 GB of space, plus the two small GPT and eUFI partitions to the...

Acronis Clone Bootable HD versus Paragon (I have Acronis)
I use Acronis and I clone my SATA hard drive in my laptop as instructed.
Remove hard drive from laptop (a must).
A. Attach above HD to laptop with USB
B. Put in new hard drive in laptop to be cloned to
Boot with Acronis USB
Use Acronis Clone Facility to transfer from A (now external USB) to B (new hard drive in laptop).
When complete
Boot as normal
Switch out drives if desired.
I have done this about 15 times and each drive is then bootable and has ALL data and works as if you never...

Any problem doing an incremental backup of a cloned drive?
Specifically, what I mean is ... If I made an image/disk backup of a drive, (and maybe a few incremental backups as well), which I then later clone to an SSD drive, can I then make an incremental backup (or continue making incremental backups) to this same disk backup with the new SSD drive? Or will HDM have a problem with it being a physically different drive?
Thanks,
Tim

Hard drive back up methods - Why such a large time difference?
I've used Paragon backup utilities since 2009. I'm currently using Paragon Backup 2011 on my Toshiba Tecra 940 laptop - Core i3 - 500 GB HD - 4 GB ram running Windows 7 Home, 64bit. The hard drive has approx 100 GB of misc files that I need to back up. I'm backing everything (not incremental) up to an external hard drive with plenty of free storage.
I've noticed the following....
Case 1 - When using Start > All Programs > Paragon System BackUp 11 > Paragon System Backup , the backup...

Assume Recovery Media can be used on any computer?
Hi, I own HDM 12 Pro, but have not used it for some time, so I'm a little foggy on this ...
Recently I backed up a new laptop, and was wondering if I needed to make a bootable recovery CD/DVD (or USB drive) for it, or could I just use the one I used for my main system?
I mean, I'm assuming it is just creating an environment so that you can use Paragon software to restore a system in case of catastrophic failure of some kind (HD failure, corrupted files, virus etc.) and that the recovery...

Schedule HDM15 to do an archive validation?
I'm wondering if it is possible to schedule an archive validation that saves results to a log file. Anybody ever had a need for this? Ideally, I would schedule a validation the day after a backup. I had an incident where I needed to recover data from a backup (HDM12). Only then did I find out there were validation problems with the archive. I'd like to know a bit sooner. Thanks.

How to Create a Disk Image
I'm not an IT person, so excuse my ignorance of how to use Paragon Disk Backup & Recovery 15.
I purchased this product to create a disk image so that I wouldn't have to spend 40+ hours reinstalling applications after doing a disk recovery.
Is simple terms how would I create a disk image that includes the Windows 10 OS, installed applications, and data files. In case of a crash I would like to be able to use the disk image to reinstall the above.

Installed 64bit version of B&R 2014, created a 32bit recovery media!
Hi,
Today I installed the 64bit version of B&R 2014 Free on my Windows 7 and created a recovery ISO CD as 32bit because my BIOS is non-UEFI. Could I use this CD without any problems to restore my OS if necessary? Or did I something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Backup & Recovery 14 Free Edition Stuck on Bad partion
I started using this utility to back up a hard drive that had previously become inaccessible. It backed up the 1st 2 partitions fine, but once it began to access the 3rd partition it got an option to skip corruption files. The program has now been running a data writing(buffered) for about 2 days now. The estimated wait till will go up to very high times such as 20 hours. Then later when I look at it again it is down to 3 hours. The progress bar has not moved. Is the program stuck? Or is it...

Everything appeared to go perfectly until I tried to boot when I got a blue screen the said something like, 'There's a problem with your disk(computer?). Reinstall Windows or consult your system...
